TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Tallahassee Poice officer Billy Hartsfield has been recognized for his actions during the April 17, 2025, active shooter incident at Florida State University.
Hartsfield was honored during the Team Guardian Medal of Valor Ceremony, where he was recognized for what was described as heroic actions in the response to the incident.
During the event, Hartsfield was credited with acting decisively in a chaotic and dangerous scene to help save lives, demonstrating courage, sound judgment and dedication to duty.
