Fort Lauderdale United FC returns to Amerant Bank Field tonight for a crucial matchup against Dallas Trinity FC, capping a busy week that saw the club secure two key health and performance partnerships. With a heavy road schedule looming, the club is looking to leverage its home-field advantage while reinforcing its off-field support systems for the athletes.
Tonight’s 7:30 p.m. ET kickoff, streaming on Peacock and broadcast locally on WPLG 10.3 (H&I), marks Fort Lauderdale’s (1-3-0, 3 PTS) first home match in three weeks. Securing points is critical, as the club will immediately hit the road for a Tuesday morning fixture and will not return to Amerant Bank Field until October 11.
Dallas Trinity FC (2-2-1, 7 PTS) arrives in South Florida on a two-match winning streak after a winless start to their campaign. The visitors are spearheaded by former Fort Lauderdale forward Jasmine Hamid, who sits second in the league with three goals, alongside Onyeka Gamero and Seven Castain, who have tallied two apiece. Midfielder Camryn Lancaster is tied for the league lead with two assists.
To break Dallas’s momentum, Fort Lauderdale will rely on a dynamic attack led by Sh’nia Gordon—one of only 13 players in the league with both a goal and an assist this season. The midfield is anchored by All-League Second Team honoree Kelli Van Treeck and Nicole Vernis, while the back line has seen standout defensive metric performances from Ella Simpson (tied for a league-leading 26 clearances) and Kelsey Oyler (a league-best 12 tackles won). The two clubs split their three meetings during the 2025/26 campaign, with Dallas taking the final two after Fort Lauderdale claimed the initial home victory.
In a move to optimize player fueling and recovery, Fort Lauderdale announced on September 14 that C.H.A.M.P.S. Kitchen has been named the club’s Official Sports Nutrition Partner. The South Florida-based, woman-owned culinary brand specializes in intentional, chef-crafted meals designed specifically for professional athletes.
Led by founder Chef Whitney, C.H.A.M.P.S. Kitchen will provide performance meal preparation, team catering, and game-day fueling. Fort Lauderdale Founder and Chairman Tommy Smith emphasized that off-field support is just as vital as on-field training, noting the partnership gives athletes access to performance-driven nutrition to maintain consistency throughout the long season.
For Chef Whitney, the collaboration goes beyond meal prep. “As a woman-owned company working in sports, partnering with Fort Lauderdale United FC is especially meaningful as we support women competing professionally and the continued growth of sports,” she said.
Further bolstering its medical and recovery infrastructure, the club announced Plantation-based Stumpff Chiropractic as its Official Partner and Team Chiropractor on September 17.
Under the direction of Dr. Eric Stumpff, the clinic will provide players with evidence-based chiropractic care, myofascial techniques, spinal decompression, and targeted rehabilitation designed to manage the physical toll of the Gainbridge Super League. The individualized treatment plans focus on restoring movement and reducing the risk of reinjury.
Dr. Stumpff noted the personal significance of the partnership alongside its clinical value. “Growing up in South Florida, playing high school sports, I always saw the need and the importance of injury recovery. And now, having a daughter, she has the opportunity to look up to professional female athletes she admires,” Stumpff said. “The physical recovery and emotional growth for athletes is what is important to this partnership.”
