Hazmat incident reported at Port Tampa Bay

TAMPA — Tampa Fire Rescue on Friday night responded to a hazardous material incident located at Port Tampa Bay.

“As an abundance of caution, a shelter in place notification has been issued for residents of Harbour Island,” Tampa Fire Rescue posted on X.

Residents in that area should stay inside with their windows and doors closed until further notice.

Harbour Island sits across the Garrison Channel from downtown Tampa, Water Street, and Sparkman Wharf.
