JACKSONVILLE, Texas (KLTV) – The Pine Tree Pirates jumped out to an early first-quarter lead and went on to defeat the Jacksonville Indians 42-13.
Pine Tree set the tone on the opening play when Colton Craft handed the ball to running back Jakaiden Johnson, who carried it down the field. Three minutes into the first quarter, Johnson finished the drive with a touchdown to give the Pirates an early advantage.
Later in the opening quarter, Pine Tree struck again through the air. Bosston Johnson caught a touchdown pass in the end zone to extend the Pirates’ lead to 14-0.
Jacksonville responded with an offensive push when Christian McGowan broke free and advanced the ball down to the 30-yard line.
Pine Tree kept control of the contest from there, securing the 42-13 win.
Pine Tree (2-2) hosts Kilgore next week. Jacksonville (2-2) travels to Chapel Hill.
