• In the past week, I have been dismayed by the number of people in hotels with no regard to others. They are loud at night, going in and out of others’ rooms and slamming doors, talking loudly and having parties. Some let their children run loose and scream in the hallways, play in the pool after hours and slam doors as they chase each other in the hallways. We even had someone set off a fire alarm early one morning! In the six nights we were at different hotels recently, five out of those six were like that and we got no rest.
• I’m ticked off at the City of Orlando. How is making Magnolia Avenue a two-way street safer for pedestrians? Now they must watch out for traffic coming in two directions instead of just one. It makes no sense. It most certainly will add to the traffic confusion already in place.
• Once again, I was working at the airport on Tuesday. Raining cats and dogs! MCO reports .02 inches of rain. All the lakes and ponds are full where I’ve lived since 1971. They had over an inch of rain easily. Hopefully someone at MCO reads the paper and will fix this drought nonsense.
The flip side
• A shout-out to all the local bands. You don’t need to spend hundreds or even thousands of dollars to enjoy an evening of good music. Some of my favorites are Beth McKee, the Bithlo Possum Revival and Buster Cousins.
