Scattered storms expected inland Southeast Georgia, Northeast Florida

  • September 19, 2026

Saturday Afternoon

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Scattered afternoon and early-evening thunderstorms are expected today across inland portions of northeast and north-central Florida, mainly along and west of the U.S. 301 corridor.

Interior southeast Georgia could also see scattered storms, with activity moving slowly west or west-southwest. A few storms may become strong, producing gusty winds, frequent lightning and possibly small hail.

As convection increases overnight across the Atlantic waters, light onshore winds could push some showers and storms toward coastal locations during the predawn hours Sunday.

A moderate rip-current risk continues at all area beaches. Onshore winds are expected to strengthen late Wednesday, bringing possible Small Craft Advisory conditions and a high rip-current risk late next week.
