TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Dozens of children got an up-close look at aviation Sunday during Wright Weekend at Million Air Tallahassee.
The free event gave children and families the opportunity to sit inside aircraft, meet pilots and learn about the people who fly and maintain planes.

Lee Giat, director of the nonprofit, Passage, said the event was designed to introduce children to the wide range of career opportunities available in the aviation industry.
“I hope this opens horizons, not just for pilots in the future, but also we need mechanics, we need engineers, we need a lot that makes this whole operation run,” Giat said.
Wright Weekend also included a red carpet screening at the Challenger Learning Center of a documentary about Giat’s inspiration and journey as a pilot called Wright of Passage.
