Leon County Schools fifth graders have a chance to spend a day in charge of Tallahassee’s fire department — at least in an honorary role.
The Tallahassee Fire Department is holding a raffle that will allow one student to step into the boots of Fire Chief Gene Sanders as “Fire Chief for a Day.” To enter, students must answer a few questions on an entry form.
The selected student will be officially sworn in, meet Tallahassee Fire Department crews and take on some fire chief duties for the day.
Entries must be submitted by Sept. 29. The entry form is available at https://forms.cloud.microsoft/g/sVLe0UYAFM.
