ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – What’s old is about to be new again.

When the Rays take to the field Tuesday at Yankee Stadium, they’ll do so looking to claim the American League East division crown. And they’ll also do it wearing ‘Tampa Bay’ on their uniform chests.

The team will wear the new uniforms for the first time against the New York Yankees on Tuesday, Sept. 22 during Game 2 of the day’s doubleheader beginning at 7:05 p.m. and will serve as the Rays primary road uniforms moving forward, replacing the current Columbia blue jerseys featuring the burst logo.

“These uniforms celebrate our long-term commitment to Tampa Bay,” said Rays Chief Executive Officer Ken Babby. “As our team travels the country, we do so with tremendous admiration for our home. Tampa Bay is always in our hearts and that’s why we will wear it across our chest.

“We are particularly proud that our fans helped choose this design, and we love the fact they want the baseball world to see ‘Tampa Bay’ when we play on the road.”

Similar to the City Connect uniforms introduced in 2024, the jersey will read “Tampa Bay” across the chest. This is a modern take on the original road gray “Tampa Bay” uniforms first worn by the club between 1998-2000.

After today’s double header, Tampa Bay and New York will face off in games on Wednesday and Thursday before the Rays finish the regular season this weekend with three road games against Philadelphia.

The playoffs seeding and schedule has yet to be determined.
