Cape Coral lowers residential road speed limit from 30 mph to 25 mph
CAPE CORAL, Fla. —
On Tuesday, the City of Cape Coral announced that it will begin changing speed limit signs on residential roads as part of its Areawide Neighborhood Speed Limit Study.
In a news release, the city said that crews will replace 30-mile-per-hour signs with 25-mile-per-hour signs on applicable residential roadways. These changes are implementations of recommendations of the city’s speed limit study.
During the installation process, officers with the Cape Coral Police Department will issue warnings to drivers who exceed the new speed limit of 25 miles per hour. An additional public notice will be issued by the city when the warning period ends.
Drivers are asked to use caution when approaching areas they see crews working in during the implementation period.
