A 46-year-old man found dead in a vehicle Sept. 17 was reported missing a day earlier, and appears to have died of natural causes, according to Port St. Lucie Police.
An officer conducting patrol came across the body of the man, identified as Cedric Gerald, of Southwest Voyager Street in Port St. Lucie, in a parking lot in the 2800 block of Southwest Port St. Lucie Boulevard, according to police.
Police Sept. 22 reported Gerald appears to have died of natural causes, but toxicology results are in the process of being completed, said Officer Brittany McNally, police spokesperson.
Gerald’s 49-year-old sister on Sept. 16 reported him missing, a police report shows.
She told police he had not been seen or heard from since about 1:21 p.m. Sept. 12.
She said Gerald had been in Tampa visiting a friend and left to return to Port St. Lucie. He called at 1:21 p.m. to tell her he ran out of gas and was stopping at a gas station. He wasn’t heard from again, and his phone went to voicemail, she said.
Police called the phone, which went straight to voicemail.
No other information was immediately available.
