Allegiant Air launches seven new routes from Florida starting October 1, connecting cities like Boston, Pittsburgh, and Philadelphia. Four originate from Fort Lauderdale, three from smaller Florida airports. Most flights run twice or thrice weekly, targeting underserved markets with low-frequency service.
Four new routes begin October 1 from Fort Lauderdale to Boston and La Crosse, followed October 2 by flights to Pittsburgh, Omaha, and Kansas City. St. Pete-Clearwater to Philadelphia and Orlando Sanford to Trenton also start October 2. All routes operate two or three times weekly, with no prior Allegiant service on these corridors. Competition exists on each, but Allegiant is stepping in after Spirit’s exit.
Fort Lauderdale now ranks as Allegiant’s sixth-largest station by departures, with 100 weekly flights starting October. The airline is replacing Spirit’s former routes while maintaining its model of serving smaller origin markets. The remaining route, from St. Pete-Clearwater to Columbia, Missouri, begins November 19, completing the eight-route expansion announced in May.
Why it matters
Travelers gain new low-cost access to Florida from secondary U.S. cities, with fares starting at $59. Booking early is critical, as light schedules mean limited seats and no daily alternatives if flights sell out or are canceled.
