CHEROKEE COUNTY, Texas (KLTV) – The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office is at the scene where a man is barricaded inside a home.
The Sheriff’s Office and the County Regional Emergency Response Team are currently on scene on CR 1628 between Jacksonville and Rusk where a man, identified as Andrew Morgan, 39, of Jacksonville, is refusing to surrender to law enforcement.
Morgan is wanted by the Sheriff’s Office on multiple charges. He fled into his residence when deputies attempted to take him into custody this afternoon. He is considered armed and dangerous, the sheriff’s office said.
Residents are asked to avoid the area and allow emergency personnel to work. Please do not approach the scene.
