September 25, 2026 – The Pinellas County Board of County Commissioners Thursday adopted the fiscal year 2027 budget. According to a prepared statement, the General Fund property tax rate was reduced to 4.4989 mills. This is “its lowest level since 1989 and less than 1 percent above the full rollback rate.” To keep the budget balanced, the County had to eliminate dozens of positions, require cuts from every department under the County Administrator and reduce funding for transportation infrastructure by $1.5 million, among other decisions.
