CLEMSON, S.C. (FOX Carolina) – Former Clemson men’s basketball player and Clemson football player Ian Schieffelin has signed an NBA contract with the Miami Heat.
The team officially announced the news on Friday afternoon, but did not disclose the details of the deal.
Schieffelin played NBA Summer League ball with the Heat this past summer, averaging 8.4 points, 3.6 rebounds and 46.7 percent shooting across five games in the San Francisco California Classic and Las Vegas NBA Summer League.
After using up all of his basketball eligibility, the All-ACC player chose to spend the final year of his college clock suiting up for Clemson football coach Dabo Swinney.
The former two-sport Tiger helped lead Clemson men’s basketball to back-to-back NCAA tournament appearances in his final two seasons, where he started all 70 games. On the football field, Schieffelin caught two passes for 10 yards and played 20 offensive snaps.
