PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. (CBS12) — Police are still searching for two masked suspects who forced their way into a home on SW Coleman Avenue last Friday afternoon in what police believe was a targeted home invasion.

The Port St. Lucie Police Department (PSLPD) said at around 2 p.m. on November 7, two people dressed in all black with hoodies, masks, white gloves, and slides — entered the home while a woman was alone inside.

One of the burglars brandished a firearm and demanded money before both fled the scene in a maroon SUV with an undisclosed amount of cash. Police emphasized that the home was likely specifically targeted and that this was not a random act. Sgt. Dominick Mesiti confirmed the woman was unharmed but described the ordeal as traumatic.

Investigators spent several hours canvassing the area, collecting evidence, and speaking with neighbors. One resident’s Ring doorbell camera reportedly captured the suspects’ getaway vehicle.

“It’s unbelievable. This is a quiet neighborhood,” said Chris Santiago, who lives nearby. “I’ve got a newborn and a four-year-old.I have to protect my family.”

The burglars remain at large. Police are urging residents to remain vigilant and not to approach the individuals if spotted. Anyone with information or surveillance footage is asked to contact Detective Fred Knaggs at (772) 871-5001 or Treasure Coast Crime Stoppers at (800) 273-TIPS (8477).
