Teen shot, street taped off in Orange County neighborhood
A 17-year-old boy was shot on Friday afternoon in an Orange County neighborhood, the sheriff’s office said.
Chopper 2 was over Liming Avenue, where the street was taped off and evidence markers had been placed. The sheriff’s office said the teenager was stable when he was taken to the hospital.
Deputies first responded to a 911 emergency call around 3:30 p.m. Carly Milligan, who lives nearby, said she was feeding her baby when this all unfolded.
“We heard screeching tires on a car,” Milligan said. “When we came out, we saw the sheriff (deputies) racing down the road, ambulance and fire truck.”
She said she had heard the suspect fled.
“I hope that they get justice,” Milligan said.
The sheriff’s office said its investigation is still in the early stages.
