Cape Coral man wanted for skipping court after arrest on gun possession as a convicted felon charge
CAPE CORAL, Fla. —
A Cape Coral man is wanted by law enforcement after not showing up for his court date following an arrest on a charge of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
According to Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers, Michael Delage, 54, has a lengthy criminal past, which prevents him from legally possessing a firearm. Police say Delage was reported after showing off a loaded shotgun to children.
Officers questioned Delage, who bragged to them that he owned more than 100 pistols and AK-47s, telling them that if he were in Minneapolis, he’d be brandishing the weapons, Crime Stoppers said.
Delage was arrested and released under the condition that he return for his court date. When he failed to do so, a bench warrant was issued for his arrest.
Delage has 20 prior local arrests on charges of fraud, hit-and-run, resisting arrest, criminal mischief, contempt of court, and four DUIs. He is 5’10”, weighs 150 pounds and should be considered armed and dangerous. Delage may be using the aliases of Michael Miller or Tuck Delage, Crime Stoppers said.
If you have information in this case, you are asked to contact Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS (8477), on the P3 app, or on its website. You can remain anonymous, and if your tip leads to an arrest, you may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $3,000.
