Norris Cole is back with the Miami Heat, but this time as an assistant coach.
The 28th pick of the 2011 NBA Draft, Cole notably spent the first three seasons of his career with the Heat, where he became a key backup guard in the team’s 2012 and 2013 championship runs.
He also spent the 2015-16 season with the New Orleans Pelicans before finishing his NBA career with the OKC Thunder in 2017.
Afterwards, Cole pursued multiple playing opportunities in Europe, winning championships with Maccabi Tel Aviv (2017-18) as well as ASVEL (2020-21).
Norris Cole earns major post-playing career opportunity from Miami Heat
As he will now serve as an assistant coach for the Sioux Falls Skyforce, Norris Cole earned himself a big break from the Miami Heat after capping off his playing career.
Previously, he was the head girls’ basketball coach at Trinity High School in Shiremanstown, Pennsylvania, during the team’s 2025-26 campaign.
Cole joins Remy NDiaye, Nate Wilson, and Darius Johnson-Odom as some of the other assistants of the Skyforce under head coach Mario Casamajor.
