Miami-area drivers, and especially those on Key Biscayne, continue to see the cost of filling their tanks climb, with the average price of regular gasoline rising another 6.5 cents per gallon over the past week.

On Key Biscayne, both gas stations are selling regular for $5.99 per gallon, while premium has climbed to $6.99 – just a penny shy of $7 per gallon.

The average price of regular gasoline in Miami is now $4.38 per gallon as we start the final week in September. According to GasBuddy’s survey of 1,690 stations in Miami, prices are 41.1 cents per gallon higher than a month ago and $1.43 per gallon higher than a year ago.

GasBuddy reported the cheapest station in Miami at $3.89 per gallon Sunday, while Key Biscayne’s $5.99 matched the highest price reported in the area, a difference of $2.10 per gallon.

Nationally, the average price of gasoline fell 1.6 cents per gallon over the past week, averaging $4.42 per gallon Monday.

“With oil holding below $100 per barrel, many Americans may see modest declines ahead for gasoline and slight drops for diesel, but the broader geopolitical situation remains fluid and could push prices in either direction with little warning, and with Trump still weighing a diesel export ban, impacts could follow,” said Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy.
