DUVAL COUNTY, Fla. – Crime scene units responded to the Mayport Boat Ramp Tuesday morning.
Two JSO crime scene unit vans, several detective vehicles and the Medical Examiner’s Office were also on scene.
News4JAX could also see what appeared to be a body bag being placed on a stretcher and wheeled to a nearby van.
We spoke with the man who found the body while on a boat with some of his friends.
“My buddy was driving the boat. I was passenger. I happened to see something odd, had him turn around, and it was a dead body face down,” Jeff Urmance told News4JAX.
Urmance said he immediately called the police after the discovery.
JSO said at this time, the incident is being investigated as an undetermined death.
Crews were starting to leave the scene by 12:30 p.m.
This is a developing story.
