FORT LAUDERDALE (September 29, 2026) — Fort Lauderdale United FC and Susan G. Komen® have officially joined forces in a powerful new community partnership aimed at expanding breast cancer awareness, supporting survivors, and providing lifesaving education and resources across South Florida.

The collaboration represents an annual, multi-faceted commitment to utilize the platform of professional women’s soccer to impact families throughout the region. Fort Lauderdale United will leverage its players, fanbase, corporate partners, and media platforms to amplify Komen’s mission, elevate survivor stories, and encourage early health action.

“We are honored to partner with South Florida’s only professional women’s soccer club during National Breast Cancer Awareness Month and turn awareness into action on breast health,” said Gil Zepeda, Development Manager at Susan G. Komen. “Our organizations have the power to make a meaningful difference in the fight against breast cancer and ensure everyone has access to the breast health education and services they require.”

The “More Than Pink!” Match

The centerpiece of the initiative will take place on Sunday, October 11, when Fort Lauderdale United hosts Lexington SC at Amerant Bank Field for the club’s inaugural “More Than Pink!” match.

A portion of ticket proceeds from the match will directly benefit Susan G. Komen. In addition to fundraising, the evening will feature special recognitions honoring survivors and families affected by breast cancer, including an inspiring pre-game walkout where survivors will take the pitch alongside Fort Lauderdale United players. The match will also serve as a key momentum builder for the 2026 Miami/Ft. Lauderdale More Than Pink Walk on Saturday, October 17.

“At Fort Lauderdale United, we believe our responsibility to this community extends far beyond the matches we play,” said Tommy Smith, Founder and CEO of Fort Lauderdale United FC. “This partnership gives us an opportunity to use the strength of our organization and the passion surrounding this club to support a mission that impacts families throughout South Florida. We want the ‘More Than Pink’ match to become an annual promise to our community as we do everything we can to help make a difference in the fight against breast cancer.”

A Year-Round Commitment

Beyond the spotlight of October’s match, Fort Lauderdale United and Susan G. Komen plan to maintain an active year-round presence. The organizations will partner on local screening events, educational outreach, and continuous storytelling to keep breast health awareness at the forefront of the South Florida sports community.

By combining the reach of Gainbridge Super League soccer with Komen’s world-class advocacy and support network, both organizations aim to build a lasting foundation for awareness, early detection, and hope across the region.
