LAKE COUNTY, Fla. – A heated argument between brothers in Groveland prompted one of them to fire multiple shots at the other’s home, according to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.
In a release, deputies said they responded shortly after 12 p.m. to a home at 7023 State Road 33 in Groveland after receiving a report about the shooting.
Upon arrival, they learned two brothers had been arguing about an accusation of theft, but as the argument escalated, the victim threw a ceramic bowl toward the suspect.
“The suspect then went to his residence, retrieved a rifle, and pointed toward the victim before discharging multiple rounds in the victim’s direction,” the release reads.
While several rounds struck the victim’s home, no injures were reported.
Deputies announced the suspect was last seen returning to his home, and a SWAT team responded to the scene to help locate him, the release says.
The investigation remains active. No additional information has been provided at this time, including the suspect’s identity and whereabouts.
