Cape Coral City Council member Bill Steinke was appointed mayor pro tem during Wednesday’s City Council meeting. Mayor John Gunter was appointed office manager.According to the city of Cape Coral, the mayor pro tem is a council member who acts as a temporary replacement for the mayor whenever the mayor is absent, unavailable or unable to perform their duties.The office manager manages the internal operations of the City Council Office.
