The 11 most anticipated Fort Lauderdale restaurants opening this fall include Caviar Club, Sweetwaters, Motek, Amal, Naia, and Barchetta.

Provided by Amal Miami

From waterfront Italian and kosher Asian dining to natural wine bars, bakeries and some familiar Miami favorites heading north, Fort Lauderdale is entering one very busy restaurant season. Some might even say it’s Fort Lauderdale’s busiest season in decades.

An unusually packed crop of restaurants is opening across the city, with much of the action concentrated along Las Olas Boulevard, downtown and the waterfront. Italian chophouses and kosher Asian dining, natural wine and caviar, pastries in the park, Lebanese mezze, Mediterranean food by the ocean, and enough new places for dinner and drinks to keep the 954 busy well into season.

Miami favorites are heading north, too. Coconut Grove’s Amal is making its Broward debut on Las Olas, Motek is taking over the former El Vez space at the W Fort Lauderdale, Ophelia has landed in the newly revamped Huizenga Park, and Magie Wine Bar is bringing its wonderfully unserious approach to serious wine to Flagler Village.

Some spots have already opened. Others are arriving throughout October and November. Together, they make a convincing case that Fort Lauderdale is having one of its biggest restaurant seasons in years.

Amal Miami is a hotspot in Coconut Grove

Amal

Another Miami favorite is heading north this fall as Coconut Grove’s stylish Lebanese spot Amal opens in Las Olas. The new location will bring its signature spread of shareable mezze, grilled meats, seafood, and modern Lebanese flavors to the heart of Fort Lauderdale. Expect daytime mezze that rolls into a fuller dinner menu at night, giving Las Olas one more buzzy opening to look forward to this season. 500 E. Las Olas Blvd., Fort Lauderdale; amalmiami.com. Swanky Italian chophouse Barchetta will open at Omni Fort Lauderdale this fall, with handmade pastas, seafood, steaks, and waterfront views.

Barchetta

Fort Lauderdale’s waterfront is getting a splash of coastal Italy with Barchetta. It’s a new Italian chophouse opening along the Intracoastal on October 1. Expect handmade pastas, fresh seafood, and premium chophouse cuts. The space will feature a dramatic dining room with marble, a wine wall, and a vintage red motorcycle suspended above the bar. Even the name leans into the waterfront setting: Barchetta translates to “little boat” in Italian. 1880 SE 17th St., Fort Lauderdale; opening October 1.

Caviar Club

Las Olas is about to get a whole lot more decadent with Caviar Club. It’s a retro-glam American steakhouse channeling the unapologetic excess of the 1980s. Expect martinis and caviar bites at the bar, then go all-in on dry-aged and Wagyu beef, tableside Dover sole, and over-the-top steakhouse indulgence in the main dining room. After a members-only VIP opening on October 5, reservations will finally open to the general public on October 27. 833 E. Las Olas Blvd., Fort Lauderdale; caviarclubftl.com. Reservations open to the public October 27.

Koji & Coal

One of the fall’s most interesting newcomers is already open. Koji & Coal brings an upscale, kosher approach to Asian-inspired dining on North Ocean Boulevard. “Koji” references the centuries-old Japanese fermentation technique that develops deep, complex flavors. “Coal” represents the heat and precision of cooking over fire. The result is a modern Asian menu that crosses into steakhouse territory, served in an intimate dining room built around warm lighting and natural textures. The restaurant is certified kosher. 3558 N. Ocean Blvd., Fort Lauderdale. Now open.

Magie Wine Bar

Miami’s wonderful Magie Wine Bar is heading north, bringing its good wine and don’t-take-yourself-too-seriously energy to Flagler Village on October 15. The new spot will keep the Little River original’s approachable wine philosophy and playful snacks. These include caviar-topped Dino Nuggets, truffle grilled cheese, escargot, and Caesar fries. Expect daily happy hour, bottomless wine events, singles nights, craft nights, and plenty of pop-ups to keep things lively. Think less stuffy wine bar, more neighborhood hangout where the wine just happens to be really good. 551 N. Federal Hwy., Ste. 600, Fort Lauderdale; magiewinebar.com. Opening October 15.

Motek By The Sea

Miami favorite Motek is officially crossing into Broward with its biggest South Florida location yet. Motek By The Sea is taking over the former El Vez space at the W Fort Lauderdale, bringing the brand’s Israeli and Mediterranean-inspired cooking to Fort Lauderdale Beach. The approximately 12,000-square-foot restaurant is expected to seat 315 guests across indoor and outdoor areas overlooking the ocean. The full restaurant is slated to debut in November, but impatient fans have a loophole: Motek is already operating takeout and delivery from the W while construction on the complete Motek By The Sea experience wraps up. Motek by the Sea. 401 N. Fort Lauderdale Beach Blvd., Fort Lauderdale; full restaurant opening November 2026.

Mediterranean restaurant Naia plans to open in Fort Lauderdale this October

NAIA

One of Las Olas Boulevard’s most recognizable corners is finally getting a new restaurant with the arrival of NAIA, a sprawling 240-seat indoor-outdoor spot from the team behind YOLO, Boatyard, and S3. The menu will blend Mediterranean cooking with Asian influences, while a wider sidewalk and outward-facing bar are designed to turn the longtime Mango’s corner into a lively gathering place. NAIA is targeting the weekend of October 18 for dinner service, with lunch and brunch to follow. If all goes according to plan, it’ll arrive just in time for the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show and the unofficial start of high season. 904 E. Las Olas Blvd., Fort Lauderdale; naialasolas.com; targeting the weekend of October 18.

Ophelia joins Mr. Smash Burger and Sweetwaters at Huizenga Park

Ophelia

Coconut Grove’s tiny RV bakery has officially expanded to Broward with a new Ophelia outpost at Huizenga Park along the New River. Husband-and-wife chefs Ana De Sa Martins and Juan Vieira are bringing their fine-dining backgrounds to breakfast with scratch-made pastries, specialty coffee, and favorites like a bacon, egg, and cheese on a house-made English muffin, coffee-glazed cinnamon rolls, and guava kouign-amann. It’s quite the glow-up for a bakery that started serving customers through the window of a retrofitted RV in a Coconut Grove parking lot just last year. Now, Fort Lauderdale has a very good excuse for coffee and pastries in the park. Huizenga Park, 32 E. Las Olas Blvd., Fort Lauderdale. Now open.

Giant Korean bakery chain Paris Baguette opened its first Miami location in Wynwood on June 30, offering its renowned pastries and coffee.

Paris Baguette

Fort Lauderdale is also getting a new neighborhood bakery café courtesy of Paris Baguette. The international bakery chain is known for glass cases overflowing with croissants, fruit-filled pastries, breads, and cakes. Plus, it will also offer coffee, tea, sandwiches, and grab-and-go options. It’s less destination dinner and more the kind of everyday bakery stop this list needs. 3485 N. Federal Hwy.; Fort Lauderdale; opening this fall.

Piola

A familiar South Florida name is joining downtown Fort Lauderdale’s restaurant boom this fall. Founded by brothers Stefano and Dante Carniato in Treviso, Italy, in 1986, Piola has spent four decades exporting its casual Italian formula worldwide. South Floridians already know the brand for its thin-crust pizzas, fresh dough, and classic Italian comfort food, with Broward locations already operating in Hollywood, Hallandale Beach, and Weston. Expect pizzas like the classic Margherita and Capricciosa, plus pastas, salads, meatballs, chicken Parmigiana, beer, and wine. 221 SW 1st Ave.; Fort Lauderdale; opening fall 2026.

New waterfront restaurant Sweetwaters will open in Fort Lauderdale this fall 2026 by the owners of Miami’s legendary Rusty Pelican.

Sweetwaters

Huizenga Park’s food scene is just getting started with Sweetwaters, a waterfront restaurant opening along the New River. From the family-owned hospitality group behind Miami’s longtime Rusty Pelican, the restaurant will pair South Florida seafood and coastal ingredients with global flavors. It’ll be a sprawling indoor-outdoor setting overlooking the river and park. Sweetwaters will start with dinner before adding breakfast and lunch, with cocktails designed to take diners from golden hour well into the night. Between Ophelia for morning pastries and Sweetwaters for sunset dinner, Huizenga Park is quickly becoming a dining destination in its own right. 58 E. Las Olas Blvd., Fort Lauderdale; reservations begin October 12.
