FORT PIERCE — A night of dinner, dancing and auctions will help put money into St. Lucie County classrooms when the St. Lucie County Education Foundation hosts its annual fundraiser Nov. 7.

An Evening for Education, themed “Back to the Future,” is scheduled for 6 to 10 p.m. at the Pelican Yacht Club in Fort Pierce.

The foundation’s largest fundraiser of the year, the event will feature a plated dinner, live and silent auctions and a celebration of public education. Proceeds will support classroom grants and scholarships for local students.

The foundation has been supporting St. Lucie County teachers and students since 1990. During the most recent school year, it provided $226,000 in teacher grants and $52,000 in scholarships to 48 graduating seniors.

This year’s 1980s-inspired theme includes sponsorship levels named after characters and references from the movie “Back to the Future.” Sponsorships range from $1,500 to $6,000, while community members can sponsor a teacher to attend the event for $150.

Individual tickets are $200, couples tickets are $375 and four tickets are $750. Discounted tickets are available for St. Lucie Public Schools employees.

Ticket prices are scheduled to increase Oct. 1.
