Police said the rescue happened in St. Petersburg on Thursday afternoon as the cops assisted firefighters at the scene by knocking on doors to evacuate the building’s residents.
When an officer knocks on a door on the second floor, a woman in the video tells him there’s a bed-bound person in the unit who needs help getting out. The cop then calls out to another officer downstairs for assistance.

“I got you, buddy,” one of the cops tells the individual, who appears to be an unidentified young person wrapped in a blanket, down a set of stairs.
“We got you man, no worries,” the other officer adds.
Once safely outside, the two cops continue to reassure the person by telling him he’s OK.
The sheriff’s office identified the two officers who assisted the evacuee as Deputy Areostatico and Deputy Hery.
