Following a shooting on the 500 block of North 19th Street on June 2, Williams Jr. was accused of telling Fort Pierce Police Department officers that during the shooting, he was inside his home and was not aware of the shooting.

Officers were informed by a witness that Williams Jr. was given the gun after 18-year-old Ja’Shawn Crosby shot his 17-year-old girlfriend following an altercation.

In a second interview with police, Williams Jr. told police he hid the firearm on the property before Crosby left the scene.

On July 8, the State Attorney’s Office declined to pursue an attempted second-degree murder charge against Crosby because there was not sufficient evidence to prove the case beyond a reasonable doubt.
