There’s a new voice for the Miami Heat and it’s a familiar name to many in the South Florida community.
Gale Nelson will be the team’s new announcer at the Kaseya Center starting this season.
Nelson is taking over for Michael Baiamonte, the Heat’s longtime announcer who retired after last season.
Nelson plays an integral part in the community as the president and CEO of Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Miami.
He said he’s excited to bring his own personal touch to the job while still preserving its legacy.
Nelson will make his debut at the Red, White and Pink Game on Oct. 6, and the Heat’s first preseason game on Oct. 8.
