FORT PIERCE — Known for its rapid-fire dialogue, frantic door-slamming, and mistaken identities, “See How They Run” is running at the Pineapple Playhouse through Oct. 18.

Set in the idyllic village of Merton-cum-Middlewick, England during World War II, where villagers are preparing for the imminent threat of Nazi invasion.

Resident spinster Miss Skillon, played by local actress Jeanne Collin, becomes convinced that her beloved vicar’s actress wife is having an affair and attempts to expose her.

Add an escaped German prisoner of war, a handsome actor, the visiting Bishop of Lax, a rotund locum priest and some meddling neighbors and hilarious confusion and mayhem result.

The comedy is directed by Josef Long, who has more than five decades of experience in theatrical direction.

“If you’re looking for a fun night at the theatre, look no further!” said Long. “Phillp King’s play delivers plenty of laughs while taking us back to a simpler time, when a little confusion, a lot of mischief, and a house full of unexpected guests were all it took to create a wonderfully entertaining evening.”

The three-act theatrical farce, written by Philip King, runs weekends through Oct. 18. Performance times are 7 p.m. on Fridays and 2 p.m. on Saturday and Sundays. Tickets are $32.40 – $37.65 and may be purchased online at pineappleplayhouse.com or by phone at (772) 465-0366.

The Pineapple Playhouse is located at 700 W. Weatherbee Road in Fort Pierce.
