TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — The City of Tampa recognized a member of WFLA on Thursday, “Bucified Burt.”

“Bucified Burt” is known as a superfan for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Members of Tampa City Council voted unanimously to honor Burt for his work in the community over the last 30 years.

Every year since 2004, Burt has given out scholarships to high school students to honor his mother’s legacy.

So far there have been 21 “Bucified” and “OLE is Alive” recipients.

“Yeah, I don’t have my mom here but I do have some others here that care about the program that came over to support the ‘Bucified’ and ‘OLE is Alive’ program this morning,” said Albert Owens, the man behind “Bucified Burt.”
