Nonstop to Orlando: Direct flights from Des Moines start in 2027

Des Moines airport to launch new direct flight to Orlando

DES MOINES, Iowa —

Des Moines International Airport will soon offer a direct flight to Orlando, Florida.

Southwest Airlines will fly nonstop to Orlando International Airport on Saturdays starting in June 2027.

“Orlando is a top 10 destination for travelers from Des Moines so we welcome the additional capacity,” Des Moines airport CEO Brian Mulcahy said in a news release. “We’re excited to see Southwest add this new option for our passengers and look forward to increased flight frequencies once the demand is proven.”

This is Southwest’s second direct flight announced at the Des Moines airport this year, following the introduction of direct flights to Nashville, Tennessee.
