TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – This year’s season of Big Brother put a Florida A&M University (FAMU) alum on the big screen to compete against roommates for the public’s vote.
Third-grade teacher and FAMU grad Taylor Brown survived 87 days in the Big Brother House, hoping she got votes to take home a $750,000 prize.
It didn’t go her way, but Brown took home $75,000 and the experience of a lifetime.
“I’m free at last,” Brown said. She survived a summer of drama, a crazy mix of votes, vetoes, shifting alliances and the constant threat of eviction.
She said the hardest part was no contact with the outside world.

“Like, oh my God, you guys don’t understand. I think the seconI walked out of the house, I went, I was like, ‘Where’s a tree? I want to hug it.’ Because it was like fresh air, and they kept trying to put me in these rooms, and I’m just like, ‘Please stop.’”
The Big Brother runner-up said that since leaving, she has called family and friends, clamored for a fried chicken sandwich and is looking forward to driving with the windows down and the music up.
She’s excited she had a chance to represent her alma mater FAMU, while competing for one of reality TV’s biggest prizes.
“My God, my HBCU, boy, oh boy, do I love that school. I bleed orange and green. So being in this house and being able to represent them and put it on for my city and my school and my community and my people, I am so proud,” Brown said.
Big Brother season 28 is considered historic as it became the first to air 1000 original prime-time episodes.
