Central Florida high school football game ends with fight on field
PALM COAST, Fla. —
A fight among football players broke out Thursday after a game between Deltona and Matanzas high schools, prompting investigations by schools and the state athletics association.
Video from the Palm Coast Observer’s livestream of the game shows what happened after Deltona High School won 21-12.
Several high school football players began fighting after going through the handshake line.
The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office said it did not make any arrests. It’s unclear at the time of this writing whether anything happened before the fight.
A spokesperson for Flagler Schools said the district does not condone such behavior and is investigating what happened.
The district is working with Deltona High School and the Florida High School Athletic Association, which said it’s gathering information from both schools and will review the incident in the coming days.
