BODYCAM: Teen arrested in PSL after hitting police car with shovel

PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. (CBS12) — A 15-year-old girl was arrested in Port St. Lucie on Monday after police say she bashed a patrol car with a shovel, causing $1,200 in damage.

Officers with the Port St. Lucie Police Department (PSLPD) say they were dispatched to the 1400 block of Bartell Ave. on Monday for reports of a disturbance.

Upon arrival, police say they met 15-year-old Amy Chance armed with a shovel in the middle of the street.

U-Haul mayhem: reckless driver leaves trail of chaos and injury in St. Lucie County

ST. LUCIE COUNTY, Fla. (CBS12) — A chaotic scene erupted in St. Lucie County when a reckless U-Haul driver allegedly unleashed a trail of destruction, forcing cars off the road and injuring drivers.

The St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office (SLCSO) said that on Monday at around 5:15 p.m., 911 dispatchers received multiple reports of the U-Haul pickup truck forcing other vehicles off the road in the Lakewood Park area.

According to SLCSO, a deputy from the Patrol Operations Bureau first spotted the U-Haul pickup truck speeding recklessly through the Winn-Dixie parking lot in Lakewood Park, endangering pedestrians and other drivers. Sheriff’s officials say Bryan Lassonde, 34, of Altamonte Springs, was driving the U-Haul pickup.

Deputies tracked the truck as it left the parking lot and headed onto Turnpike Feeder Road, stating Lassonde’s actions posed a serious risk to public safety.

Police bodycam footage captures dramatic rescue of missing woman

PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. (CBS12) — Newly released body camera video shows the harrowing rescue of a Port St. Lucie woman who went missing and wandered into the St. Lucie River, leading to a day-long search.

The body camera video from the Port St. Lucie Police Department (PSLPD) on Wednesday shows officers searching for the victim, identified as Kelly Marie Catrambone, through a marsh in the thick of the night.

“Kelly, where are you girl?” an officer can be heard asking.

Video continues to show officers walking through the thick Marsh as the search for Catrambone intensifies.

BODYCAM: Florida man accused of threatening to kill kids, assaulting father in standoff

VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. (CBS12) —A Florida man is accused of injuring his father with a hunting knife, threatening to kill four children, and spitting on a deputy.

According to the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office (VCSO), on Sunday, deputies responded to a home on Fowler Drive in Deltona after receiving reports of a man armed with a large hunting knife who injured one person and was threatening to kill four children inside the home.

Deputies say when the first deputy arrived at the scene, the suspect’s father threw himself between his son and the deputy to prevent a shooting. VCSO Body camera video shows the father trying to talk to the suspect, who is seen standing in the driveway and holding a large knife in his hand.

A deputy can be heard on video telling the suspect to drop the knife and ordering the father to get out of the way.

Florida man arrested again after bodycam Halloween raid uncovers massive drug stash

LEE COUNTY, Fla. (CBS12) — A Florida man previously charged in connection with a deadly club shooting is back behind bars.

The Lee County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) said deputies raided a Fort Myers stash house on Halloween, uncovering a massive cache of illegal drugs.

The sheriff’s office said deputies executed a tactical operation on Regata Way, where they discovered more than a dozen kilograms of narcotics. The suspect, Derrick Church, was out on bond for second-degree murder when detectives say he continued trafficking dangerous substances.

DRAMATIC BODYCAM: Deputies save 7-year-old from knife-wielding suspect in Florida home

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. (CBS12) —Florida deputies stormed a barricaded bedroom to rescue a 7-year-old boy from a knife-wielding suspect, leading to a deputy-involved shooting that ended the armed man’s life.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) released bodycam footage following a deputy-involved shooting that occurred on Sunday.

HCSO said that at around 2:04 p.m., deputies were called to a domestic violence incident involving a 27-year-old suspect named Mario Camacho.

According to deputies, the caller reported that Camacho was armed with a knife and was choking a 7-year-old boy.
