High school football ‘26: Friday night’s scoreboard and looking ahead to Week 8

  • October 3, 2026

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Top-ranked Raines turned in its most impressive regular season win, leading from open to close in a 20-17 statement win over perennial power Venice. The Vikings (6-0) have now won 31 consecutive regular season games, and 20 straight overall, as they continue to dominate.

Raines led 20-3 before Venice (6-1) made an attempt at a comeback. But the Vikings, led by physical edge Troy Butler, blocked three field goals including the potential tying score with under five minutes to play.

Ed White holds on in Game of the Week

The Commanders, ranked No. 4 in the Super 10, lost quarterback King Boylston to an apparent leg injury in the second quarter, but fended off the No. 10 Knights 21-18 in a game that was delayed in the final quarter as the lights at the stadium went out.

The Knights had two chances in the final quarter to take the lead but came up empty both times.

Ed White put receiver Mike Hinson at QB to replace Boylston and he helped the Commanders mount a comeback from a 10-0 deficit. Vedo Jones, King Mercer and Rontrez Loyd had touchdowns for the Commanders.

Long streak ends

Westside ended a 21-game losing streak with a 28-12 win over Englewood. The Wolverines (1-6) hadn’t won a game since an 11-8 victory over Ribault pm Sept. 13, 2024.
