Deputies say they found four other children inside the home, unsupervised.
TAMPA, Fla. — A Tampa father of five was arrested after deputies say he left his children unattended at the family’s home.
Just before 9 p.m. Friday, deputies found a 3-year-old child walking alone down a busy roadway. The child was reportedly barefoot.
Deputies were able to find the child’s home and saw the front door had been left open. Inside, they found four other young children left unattended.
The stove in the house had been left on and was smoking, deputies say. Some of the children were also found to be wearing soiled diapers.
Deputies learned that the children’s mom was at work and had left the kids with their father, 41-year-old Glenn Jones.
When Jones returned to the home, Hillsborough County deputies placed him under arrest.
Jones was taken to the Orient Road Jail and charged with five counts of child neglect.
