Kids. games, neighbors, more kids, rides, fun, food, and even more more kids made for quite a 35th anniversary party.

That describes last Saturday’s Village of Key Biscayne 35th Anniversary Community Festival at the Village Green, which celebrated the day 35 years ago when a group of residents, whose sole focus was improving the life and future of Key Biscayne, saw their work culminate in a vote to incorporate as its own municipality.

The future those leaders envisioned was visible and palpable at last Saturday’s event, put on by the Key Biscayne Community Foundation and the Village Parks and Recreation Department. Hundreds of residents turned out for an old-fashioned, family-driven celebration with rides, games and a Vendor Village organized in part by the Key Biscayne Chamber.

Congratulations, Key Biscayne!
