TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – There’s a reason the old saying “that’s why the play the games” has endured for so long.
Case in point, Saturday at Doak Campbell Stadium.
Amid a sea of negativity and coming into a home ACC matchup as an underdog, the Florida State Seminoles sprang to life, hanging 38 unanswered on the Virginia Cavaliers to dominate the visiting Wahoos, 38-7.
The offensive outburst for the ‘Noles (3-2, 1-1 ACC) was led by quarterback Ashton Daniels, who rushed for a program record five touchdowns and was responsible for every FSU trip to the end zone. The QB finished the day with 319 all-purpose yards.
The Florida State defense befuddled Virginia (3-2, 1-1 ACC) all game long, making life difficult for Hoos QB Beau Pribula who was sacked 10 times on the afternoon as UVa sputtered to only 205 yards on the day.
FSU will look to be above .500 in ACC play for the first time since 2023 when it travels to Louisville on Friday for a 7 PM primetime kick against the Cardinals.
