The sounds of UCF and Valencia students chatting mingled with the aroma of coffee at Downtown Student Life’s “Coffee at Qreate” event.
UCF students spent Sept. 24 from 3 to 5 p.m. with crafts and coffee at Qreate Coffee’s downtown location, an Orlando-based business.
Event organizer Arthur Freire said events like this inspire students to perform through community.
“If you’re in a place that everyone is doing something, you’re also going to do something productive,” Freire said.
The event offered students a third space, also known as a relaxing social environment separate from your home, workplace and, in this case, campus to enjoy for the day.
Inside the coffee shop, students were greeted with coffee vouchers, details of the next event, and crafting tools for the custom bookmark-making.
UCF and Valencia’s students filled the coffee shop; some came solo, while others arrived in groups for the event.
