A shooting in North Miami in which two people were caught on camera jumping out of an apartment window has been connected to the discovery of a body on a roadway and a vehicle arson, officials said Monday.

The first discovery happened at around 7:25 a.m. on Sunday when a Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office captain discovered a man who was shot several times lying on the shoulder of a roadway at Southwest 216 Street and 189 Avenue, investigators said.

Meanwhile, in the area of Southwest 248th Street and 157th Avenue, arson investigators responded to reports of a vehicle that they later determined was set on fire intentionally.

Investigators later learned that the man found on the roadway was abducted from the apartment in North Miami, where officers had responded to reports of gunfire shortly after midnight at the Aliro Apartments at 14040 Biscayne Boulevard.

The deceased man matched the description of the abducted victim, and the vehicle matched the one driven by the subjects, investigators said.

Cellphone video showed two people jumping out of a window after a police said a person was shot at a North Miami apartment building on Sunday.

Cellphone video captured by a neighbor showed several men jumping out of a window, falling several stories after residents heard the shots.

Someone dressed in all black jumps out of a window and runs away, appearing to drop cash. Then a second person, also wearing all black, jumps out next.

The video then shows the men take off in a dark silver car with the back door left open.

Investigators haven’t confirmed if the people seen jumping out of the window are related to the incident.

Officials have not released the name of the victim or whether they’ve made an arrest.
