A common pastime to take part in the fall is to visit a pumpkin patch. And whether you’re looking to take a pumpkin home or snap plenty of pictures, there’s a variety of activities available for the whole family in South Florida.
In Miami-Dade County, visitors will find the Berry Farms, and in Broward County, there is Flamingo Road Nursery and Marando Farms.
There are only a few weeks left to enjoy some pumpkin patches around South Florida, and whether you’re looking to take a pumpkin home or snap plenty of pictures, there’s a variety of activities still available for the whole family. NBC6’s Guamay Martell reports.
These farms are open during both weekdays and weekends, so make sure you get your fall pictures before November arrives.
Ticket prices vary, but they tend to start at $20 for adults. But don’t worry, we’ve also rounded up some free options below.
Flamingo Road Nursery
Flamingo Road Nursery takes imagination to a different level, creating immersive cottages full of art and surprises.
“[Visitors] can expect hay rides that are full of creativity, imagination. They can expect pumpkin painting, which is a huge hit, and families come in and friends and couples that it’s just a really cute experience,” Lyz-Stephanie, the event coordinator and fall festival experience coordinator, said.
And don’t leave without trying their frozen apple cider.
It’s “our Florida twist on a northern classic because it’s fall, but it’s Florida fall, so we do things a little bit differently here.”
Admission is $20.
Marando Farms and Ranch
Now, if you want a place where you can feed the animals and chase them around, Marando Farms will be just right for you.
“My personal favorite thing is to bring my daughter to the petting zoo. She enjoys the pony rides, pumpkin painting, and pumpkin carving as well,” Celina Reyes, who has worked as a cashier at Marando Farms and Ranch for 9 years, said. “We have sheep, goats, tortoise ears, emus, ponies, horses. My favorite part is when the families come together and spend time with their children.”
Admission to the pumpkin patch is $5, and a $20 wristband gives visitors access to the pumpkin patch, the petting zoo, a train ride and a hay ride.
The Berry Farm
At The Berry Farm, you can enjoy the largest pumpkin patch in South Florida–while also making sure your kids leave all the energy in the field.
“A day trip here is about 4 to 5 hours. So you’re going to come out, and those kids are going to get tired,” Erika Martinez, the farm’s vice president of brand and strategic marketing, said. “Everyone in the family is going to get a little bit tired, but you’re going to come back with memories.”
This location also boasts a five-acre corn maze, where parents and kids alike “love getting lost.”
And besides the main event (once again, a massive pumpkin patch), visitors can enjoy “line dancing on Saturday nights from 7 to 11, and it’s a great time for everybody in the family from 1 to 101. There’s something for everybody at The Berry Farm.”
Admission is $17.
A $99 family-four pack is also available, which includes admission for two adults (ages 13+) and two children (ages 3–12), plus one *family meal selected on-site:
