Cape Coral High School Announces 2027 Athletic Hall of Fame Inductees

Cape Coral High School Athletics has officially announced the 2027 Hall of Fame Class, featuring multi-sport legend David Pasquale and basketball standout Jason Hopf. Both inductees will be officially honored during halftime at the varsity football game against Immokalee High School on October 16, 2026.

The Cape Coral High School Athletics Hall of Fame honors graduates, coaches, and contributors who achieved athletic distinction, demonstrated outstanding character, and left a lasting legacy on the Cape Coral High School community.

“Both David Pasquale and Jason Hopf represent the absolute pinnacle of athletic excellence, leadership, and legacy at Cape Coral High School,” said the selection committee. “We are honored to induct them into the Hall of Fame.”

David Pasquale (Class of 2008): Pasquale established himself as one of the most dynamic multi-sport athletes in school history, earning 11 varsity letters across football, track, and basketball. As a four-year starting quarterback, he compiled a 17-6 record, accounted for 4,072 yards and 45 touchdowns, and set the school record for the longest pass in Seahawks history with a 99-yard touchdown in 2007. The 2007 Southwest Florida Player of the Year and Class 5A All-State selection went on to earn a full scholarship to the University of Toledo. At Toledo, Pasquale appeared in three bowl games, set school records for running back receiving production, and was named a National Football Foundation Post-Graduate Scholar-Athlete while completing both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees.

Jason Hopf (Class of 1994): Hopf stands as one of the most prolific playmakers in Seahawks basketball history, holding the program records for single-game assists (18), single-season assists (376), and career assists (530), alongside 161 career three-pointers. A two-time All-Conference and All-Southwest Florida selection, Hopf anchored back-to-back District and Conference Championship teams in 1993 and 1994, helping the program achieve a combined 58-8 record across two seasons. In 1994, he led the basketball program to Cape Coral High School’s first-ever #1 state ranking in any sport. Hopf continued his career at Santa Fe Community College and Kennesaw State University before returning to Cape Coral to coach from 1998 to 2001.
