GiveTLH marks ninth year giving back to local nonprofits, WCTV highlighting 2026 finalists

  • October 6, 2026

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – They are unsung heroes in our community – small, local nonprofits working tirelessly to help those in need.

GiveTLH is a community effort underwritten by philanthropist and businessman Rick Kearney.

Now in its 9th year, the effort spotlights exceptional non-profits and awards them a micro-grant to help them continue their mission.

Started in 2018, GiveTLH awards $1,000 to six non-profits nominated for their grassroots philanthropy efforts. They also get an annual membership to United Partners for Human Services.

“GiveTLH is to recognize the organizations that people probably don’t even know about,” Kearney said. “They’re doing their thing day in and day out, helping folks, sacrificing their own time, money, whatever resources they’ve got. We’re trying to highlight them for the rest of the community to see.”

Then, the public votes for the top three non-profits. Those organization receive a $10,000, $5,000 and $2,500 grant from Rick Kearney and the Beatitude Foundation. The top prize winner gets an additional $10,000 in marketing services from Bow Stearn Marketing, which helps them do even more good.

Last year’s winner was Redemptive Love Farm and Rescue, a non-profit that rescues farm animals, many of them disabled, and provides animal-assisted therapy and educational programs.

“The ultimate goal is to give some encouragement to the folks that have been doing this tirelessly and sacrificing so much, because a lot of times it’s just one or two people doing it themselves. The idea is to spread the joy that we receive when we give so much to others,” Kearney said.

The GIVE TLH series airs every Monday at 5:30 p.m. starting October 12.

Voting starts November 17.
