Heavy police presence in PSL as officers probe shooting near elementary school

PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. (CBS12) — Police are investigating a shooting near the 2700 block of SE Tropical East Circle and are asking nearby residents to stay inside on Monday.

Officers with the Port St. Lucie Police Department (PSLPD) say that the scene is very active with a heavy police presence in the area. The scene is just around the corner from Mariposa Elementary School.

Nearby residents are being asked to shelter in their homes unless contacted by police.
