CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — An affidavit reveals how a Chattanooga man used DoorDash to prey on a teenage girl in Florida and bring her back to Tennessee.

Chattanooga Police were able to track the man down through his DoorDash account, leading to a traffic stop in East Ridge and his arrest.

The affidavit says 28-year-old Michah Mosier faces several charges, including statutory rape and sexual exploitation of a minor.

Investigators say Mosier met the teenager online and began forming a relationship with her.

After the teen’s family reported her missing, investigators say they learned Mosier sent her several gifts through DoorDash.

The affidavit says Mosier started talking with the Florida teen on a voice chatting app, then began sending her deliveries from restaurants including McDonald’s, Red Lobster, and Denny’s.

Dispatch audio from the incident captured an officer directing…

“Go ahead and stop that vehicle once you get up to it.”

Police later reported…

“I do have a female passenger in the vehicle.”

The arrest report says police found a missing 13-year-old from Florida inside Mosier’s car.

Police say that once the teen was reported missing, investigators checked Mosier’s DoorDash account and used information from other orders to track down his address in Chattanooga.

Police say a Flock camera later picked up his license plate in East Ridge.

Vince Champion of the International Brotherhood of Police Officers says app-based data can be critical in investigations.

“As it’s progressed, we’ve been able to narrow that stuff down. What they’re purchasing, where they purchased it,” Champion says.

He says being able to track someone down can make all the difference.

“Time does become very valuable, and time is not always on law enforcement’s side.” Champion says. “They’re not going to stop.”

Online records show Mosier is expected in court in about two-weeks.
