ORLANDO, Fla. — There is a hidden gem east of downtown Orlando that is slowing down the City Beautiful, one baby goat at a time.

It is called Wildflower Farm, and its popular seasonal program, Fables on the Farm, is turning standard story time for tots into a fully immersive, hands-on barnyard adventure.

Story time with a twist: Fables on the Farm seamlessly intertwines interactive children’s story time with active farm learning. Tots get to sing songs, make animal noises, and practice their wiggles right alongside the real deal.
Bottle-feeding “kids”: The hands-on interaction is highly encouraged. Children get the unique opportunity to step up and bottle-feed the farm’s 16 baby goats. Be prepared for a gentle game of tug-of-war when these hungry little guys grab the bottle.
Fun farm facts: Co-owners Richard Carlson and Linda Gutierrez guide families through the experience. Kids will learn animal facts —like how goats have a 270-degree field of vision, allowing them to see almost entirely behind themselves.
Meet the neighbors: The baby goats aren’t the only ones looking for attention. Visitors can venture just a few steps away to meet the mama goats (including a large, but big-hearted goat named Sassy), rub the snouts of the resident pigs, and watch the red chickens roam.
How to visit: Fables on the Farm takes place seasonally on Saturdays at 11 a.m. Since it’s a seasonal event, families are encouraged to check schedule updates and grab tickets in advance to secure a spot in the pasture.
