92L has become Tropical Depression 9. It is forecast to become Tropical Storm Isaias by overnight tonight and could become a hurricane by Friday. While there’s still a good degree of uncertainty on it’s eventual track and strength, it will likely approach the central Gulf Coast late Friday into early Saturday, possibly as a hurricane.

Tropical Depression forms in SW Gulf, likely to become Isaias.
Regardless of track or strength, this system will bring our area an increased risk of heavy to torrential rain by the weekend. We’ll also be looking at dangerous surf conditions continuing through the weekend. It’s still too early for specifics when it comes to other impacts such as winds and storm surge.

Gulf low not yet formed, but tropical moisture may bring heavy weekend rain and flooding.
Make sure you stay alert to the forecast as changes are likely. Now is a good time to review your hurricane plan and make sure you kit is good to go just in case.
