JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Hebron Community Church is giving away free food to 150 families until noon Thursday in Jacksonville’s Moncrief neighborhood.
The event is scheduled for 10 a.m. to noon at 3328 Moncrief Road, across from Faust Temple Church of God in Christ. Organizers said fresh vegetables, fruit and other items would be available.
“We have families that are working hard, and because of the price of rent and the price of gas and other commodities, it helps to assist them in the daily necessities of life,” Pastor Stanley Platts of Hebron Community Church said.
The church organized the giveaway with Beaver Street Enterprise Center and the Florida Central First Jurisdiction of the Church of God in Christ, led by Bishop Gary Hall Sr. and Mother LaShawn Young.
Platts said the effort was intended to support families and build on positive work in the community.
