TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Elder Care Services is working to ensure its clients stay safe as Hurricane Isaias approaches.
The group’s president, Jocelyne Fliger, says their teams help seniors with storm plans to make sure they’re prepared.
The center’s president said they’ll also follow up on Monday with volunteers and Meals on Wheels. Fliger said that during a storm like this one, their biggest concerns are immediate risks.
“Trying to avoid anyone having any major issues that could result in health issues or safety issues. So we will make sure that our highest risk clients are contacted several times. If they live alone, if they’re in a mobile home, if they sustain any damage to their homes, like we want to know that so we can help get them assistance,” Fliger said.
Fliger said earlier today that they were able to give out some food bags to those who needed them and will help with any need once we’re clear of the storm.
